Biography
Arnika Dabbagh was a 15-year-old national swimming champion who was killed by direct gunfire to the heart during protests in Gorgan on January 9, 2026. Due to a total communication blackout in Iran at the time, her family was unable to call for emergency medical services, and she succumbed to her injuries before reaching a hospital. Her memorial service featured a display of her numerous athletic medals and a courageous speech by her mother.
آرنیکا دباغ، نوجوان ۱۵ ساله و قهرمان شنای کشوری، در ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات در گرگان با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای امنیتی به قلبش جان باخت. به دلیل قطع کامل ارتباطات در ایران، امکان تماس با اورژانس و انتقال او به بیمارستان فراهم نشد و وی بر اثر شدت جراحات جان خود را از دست داد. در مراسم چهلم او، میز یادبودی شامل مدالهای قهرمانی او برپا شد و مادرش سخنرانی رسا و شجاعانهای ایراد کرد.
