Biography
Atefeh Naami was a 37-year-old animal rights activist and independent woman living in Karaj. She was arrested during the Woman Life Freedom protests in late November 2022 and reportedly died under torture by security forces. Her body was found in her apartment eight days after her disappearance, where authorities attempted to stage her death as a suicide by gas, a claim rejected by her family.
عاطفه نعامی، ۳۷ ساله و فعال حقوق حیوانات، زنی مستقل و ساکن کرج بود که در جریان خیزش «زن، زندگی، آزادی» در اواخر آبان ۱۴۰۱ بازداشت شد. او زیر شکنجه ماموران امنیتی جان باخت و پیکرش هشت روز پس از ناپدید شدن در آپارتمانش پیدا شد. نهادهای حکومتی با صحنهسازی و باز کردن شیر گاز، علت مرگ او را خودکشی اعلام کردند، اما خانواده او تاکید داشتند که وی بر اثر شکنجه کشته شده است.
