لطیف کریمی، سرتیپ بازنشسته ۵۸ ساله و جانباز بود. او در تاریخ ۱۳ دی ۱۴۰۴ در ملکشاهی ایلام، در جریان اعتراضات کشته شد. او در میان هرج و مرج تیراندازی، بدون اسلحه و با فریاد «شلیک نکنید» برای محافظت از همشهریانش مداخله کرد و در همین حین کشته شد.
