Biography
Dr. Maryam Arvin was a human rights lawyer from Sirjan who was arrested in November 2022 for providing legal defense to protesters during the 'Woman, Life, Freedom' movement. After being released from Sirjan Prison in December 2022, she died under suspicious circumstances in February 2023. Reports and family testimonies suggest her death was caused by forced injections and poisoning administered while she was in state custody.
دکتر مریم آروین، وکیل دادگستری و مدافع حقوق بشر اهل سیرجان بود که در جریان خیزش «زن، زندگی، آزادی» به دلیل دفاع از حقوق معترضان بازداشت شد. او پس از آزادی از زندان در آذر ۱۴۰۱، در بهمن ماه همان سال به طرز مشکوکی جان باخت. بر اساس گزارشها و اظهارات خانواده، جانباختن او ناشی از تزریقات اجباری و خوراندن مواد سمی در دوران بازداشت بوده است.
