مهدی قدیمی، فوتبالیستی ۲۶ ساله اهل فریدونکنار مازندران بود. او در تاریخ ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ در بابل با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای امنیتی در جریان اعتراضات جان باخت. گزارش‌ها حاکی از آن است که او دقایقی پیش از مرگ نگران امنیت پدرش بود. از قدیمی به عنوان «شهید راه آزادی» و «فرزند ایران» یاد می‌شود.
