مهدی کرمانی در تاریخ ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ (۹ ژانویه ۲۰۲۶) در تهرانپارس تهران به ضرب گلوله نیروهای جمهوری اسلامی به قتل رسید. او در جریان اعتراضات «زن زندگی آزادی» کشته شد و در زمان مرگ، به همراه نامزدش در حال تدارک مراسم ازدواج خود بود.
