Accounts differ, with some sources stating he was killed on his birthday, while others report his death on January 9, 2026, in Mashhad, shot directly by security forces. His family discovered his lifeless body in a morgue a week later.
مهدی محمدزاده جوانی ۲۳ ساله و میهنپرست اهل مشهد بود که به عنوان آشپز کار میکرد. او در هجدهم دیماه، شب زادروزش، در جریان اعتراضات به خیابان رفت. در مورد تاریخ دقیق جان باختن او روایتها متفاوت است؛ برخی منابع میگویند او در همان روز تولدش کشته شد، در حالی که منابع دیگر تاریخ جان باختن او را نوزدهم دیماه ۱۴۰۴ در مشهد و با شلیک مستقیم نیروهای حکومتی ذکر کردهاند. خانوادهاش پس از یک هفته پیکر بیجان او را در سردخانه یافتند.
