Biography
Professor Mohammad Taghi Zehtabi was a prominent intellectual and a founding figure of the Azerbaijan National Movement who was active in political life following the 1979 revolution. He was killed on December 22, 1998, as one of the victims of the state-sponsored Chain Murders. His legacy continues to be honored by activists who gather at his grave in Shabestar.
پروفسور محمدتقی زهتابی از بنیانگذاران فکری حرکت ملی آذربایجان و از بانیان فعالیتهای سیاسی در آذربایجان جنوبی پس از انقلاب ۱۳۵۷ بود. او در ۱ دی ۱۳۷۷ در جریان قتلهای زنجیرهای توسط عوامل حکومتی ترور شد. یاد و خاطره او همچنان توسط فعالانی که بر سر مزارش در شبستر جمع میشوند، گرامی داشته میشود.
