مجتبی روستایی، مردی میهنپرست و ۴۰ ساله اهل شهرستان ملایر بود. او در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در افسریه تهران توسط نیروهای امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی کشته شد. گزارشها حاکی از آن است که او از ناحیه گلو، پشت سر یا صورت مورد اصابت گلوله قرار گرفته بود. او معتقد بود که «تا خونی ریخته نشود، انقلابی نمیشود.»
