He was killed on January 8, 2026, in Rostamabad, Gilan Province, by direct fire from terrorists of the Islamic Republic, in connection with the Lion and Sun revolution. His death left his mother with the sorrow of his unfulfilled wish to marry.
امید زارع، جوانی ۲۳ ساله و میهنپرست بود که سرپرستی مادر و خواهرش را بر عهده داشت. او در تاریخ ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در رستمآباد استان گیلان با شلیک مستقیم تروریستهای جمهوری اسلامی و در ارتباط با انقلاب شیر و خورشید به قتل رسید. مرگ او آرزوی دامادی را بر دل مادرش گذاشت.
