Biography
Sam Afshari was a 17-year-old computer science student from Karaj who was reportedly fluent in English and German. He was killed by direct fire from security forces on January 8, 2026, during protests in the Azimiyeh district. A video of his mother dancing in front of his portrait during his memorial, instead of at his wedding, became a poignant symbol of his loss.
سام افشاری، نوجوان ۱۷ ساله ساکن کرج و دانشآموز رشته کامپیوتر بود که به زبانهای انگلیسی و آلمانی تسلط داشت. او در ۱۸ دی ۱۴۰۴ در میدان اسبی عظیمیه کرج با شلیک مستقیم مأموران جمهوری اسلامی جان باخت. ویدیویی از پایکوبی مادرش در برابر تصویر او در مراسم سوگواری، به جای جشن دامادی فرزندش، بازتاب گستردهای یافت.
