سامان علایی اهل لاویج مازندران بود که در دیماه ۱۴۰۴ توسط نیروهای امنیتی جمهوری اسلامی جان خود را از دست داد. از او به عنوان «فرزند ایران» و جانفدای میهن یاد میشود. در مراسم خاکسپاری وی، صحنههایی از سوگواری و رقص دردمندانه مادرش در میان جمعیت انبوهی از مردم ثبت شده است.
