Biography
Mohammadreza Yazdan-Afrough, a 17-year-old Bakhtiari wrestling champion, was killed during protests on January 9, 2026. He died in the Shadabad neighborhood of Tehran after being shot by security forces with direct bullets to his heart and abdomen. Yazdan-Afrough had aspired to win an Olympic gold medal.
محمدرضا یزدانافروغ، قهرمان کشتی ۱۷ ساله بختیاری، در تاریخ ۱۹ دی ۱۴۰۴ در جریان اعتراضات به دست نیروهای امنیتی کشته شد. او در محله شادآباد تهران و در پی شلیک مستقیم گلوله به قلب و شکمش جان باخت. آرزوی بزرگ یزدانافروغ کسب مدال طلای المپیک بود.
